They did a outstanding job on removing a very large willow that was in a difficult place to get to which required them to lay down plywood for all their equipment since they did not want to do any damage to the lawn. Their team is professional, courteous and cleaned up afterward, in fact, so good that you wouldn't know they were even there had it not been for the tree being removed. I would highly recommend them.

Sunset Dave and his crew are incredible! They handle the toughest of jobs with professionalism and expertise. They arrived on time, carefully analyzed the trees and work area, figured out a work plan then got to work and got the job done. Very friendly crew to talk with and watch them work, they make it look easy, but I can state from firsthand experience that it is not. Tree work is extremely dangerous brutal tough physical work that requires a high degree of knowledge, safety practices and expertise. I do some tree and trail building work around my land with excavator, track loader, saws etc, however there are some jobs I will absolutely not attempt myself, its not worth the risk of injury (or worse) to myself, buildings, equipment; anyone who has done tree work knows that things can go wrong real fast. That's why I called in the professionals at Sunset Tree Service for this job, they climbed to the top of 80-90 foot trees with 6-8 trunks coming out of the bases, rigged up ropes, communicated with the ground crew, cut and safely lowered them down piece by piece without damaging any of the surrounding pine trees or buildings and other trees were roped, cut and pulled down and landed in the exact locations they planned for. Very happy with the work they have done and will be calling them out for other jobs in the future.
Dave, Aaron, Eli, Roman and Tyler are not only the best tree removal team in northern Michigan, they are surely the friendliest! They were super easy to work with and learn from. They had a very difficult task in front of them in needing to take down a 90 foot tree, that was amongst other trees that we hoped to keep, and with large, heavy branches that hung over a portion of our house. There was not a scratch on the other trees and nothing came close to our house. I am struggling to find the right superlatives to write to fully describe the job they did: Professional. Expert. Quality Plus. Experienced. Remarkable. Dave was incredibly fair in his quote and somehow found a hole in his schedule to prioritize taking down the 90 foot tree that had split at its base--along with other trees that needed removal. When they left, outside of the canopy having changed, you could not tell they had ever been there. Dave and his crew are the best of the best.

Sunset Tree Service came to our yard yesterday. We are very happy with their professional work, tree trimming, tree removal and they even cut the big logs into 16 inch pieces for firewood. The price was good and we even got a better rate when we bundled their service with two other neighbors. Aaron did the 3rd story work, removing the neighbor's tall maple. That guy is awesome, he cut each branch and dropped them safely without damaging the house underneath. One other thing, they cleaned up the entire area, almost didn't know they were there. Great Job! Worked with us in removing trees in a standing forest without damaging any trees, or the boat that was stored below the limbs of a tree that needed to be removed. Easy to work with! Their cleanup was incredible- even removed debris that had fallen on the lake ice, with a leaf blower. Wood was cut and chipped and I now have firewood for next winter and mulch for my garden.

Three trees led to thirteen yesterday and they got it all done in one day. They were there until 8 pm and were meticulous about clean up and the price was very reasonable. My neighbor noticed as well and is using them today.

Wow! Dave responded so quickly and brought his team the day immediately after the storm. It was a huge mess, very complicated the way the trees fell. They did an amazing job, very fair price and they even protected my little Japanese maple as I asked. We live in the middle of a forest so we will definitely call them back! Wonderful experience!

When high winds brought a big pine tree down on the deck of our cottage, Sunset Tree Service was there to help! They were able to get to us quickly despite being very busy, and cleaned up the tree for us fast and efficiently. Called and Dave gave me a same day quote. Crew showed up within the timeframe he provided. The team was polite and professional. Called Dave to have some trees removed. Just happened that Dave was close to my house when l called. He stopped by and gave me a quote on the spot which was very reasonable. I asked Dave to put me on the list to have the job done. Later that day Dave called and said the crew would be coming by our house later in the day and would complete the job. This is the most Professional and by far the Best tree service to work with when you need trees taken down. I had such bad experiences with the two Other businesses that I previously used. Dave Scott actually had to come to my rescue when one place just never showed back up to finish the job. I unfortunately had already paid them, like an idiot. But Sunset came in and took care of the job with a lot less damage to the property. I have used their services at least 5 times now and will never get anyone else. Awesome company and crew! We hired Dave and his team to remove some trees, and we were so happy we did. They're by far the best tree company we've ever hired. They were extremely professional, on time, and reasonably priced! They removed some cedars around our gardens and they took great care not to impact any of the surrounding plants. Their clean up with exceptional. They raked the yard, blew off the deck, and removed all cuttings. We will be using them again and would highly recommend!

I couldn't be more pleased with the tree removal service provided by Dave Scott and his crew. Dave Scott is the owner of sunset Tree Service in Traverse City (not to be confused with sunset tree service in Bay City). Every phase of the operation was excellent. They provided written proof of insurance coverage and a very reasonable estimate. They removed ten medium-to-large trees and cleaned up in one day. Several trees were removed from challenging locations with no damage to the surrounding trees. Thomas May, the team's climber, proved to be an experienced and professional climber. I was very impressed by the professionalism and teamwork of the entire crew.
Best tree service I've ever used! Dave was prompt in getting here for an estimate, scheduled the work at my convenience - not his - and they did a great job. I didn't want a bucket truck and heavy equipment tearing up my yard and they did an amazing job climbing and bringing down some huge trees without even bruising any of my flower garden. Fantastic cleanup - my yard looked better after they left than it did before they got there! AND, if that weren't enough, they were all friendly, introduced themselves, were polite and helpful. Oh - and did I mention that the price was very reasonable? A total class act - I will definitely use them again!
Dave and his crew are the best. I hired them to take down an old blue spruce that had been started from a seed and gifted to our family in the early 1900's. It had all kinds of sentiment and memories, but was sick and its time had come. They were all so respectful of our feelings, our stories and of all of my little daycare children watching through the windows. In our cramped city lot they were skillful dismantling the tree and getting it out and when I asked them to leave a couple stumps for the kids they cut one into a little chair. Their work was great, their clean up meticulous and their rates were more than fair. I'm so grateful we found them.
